Event Description
“Equality can be measured in both action and reaction. [Bunny] Yeager truly understood the essence of beauty equating feminity beyond any color barriers.” – Carl-Philippe Juste, Miami Herald photojournalist.
The Copper Door Bed & Breakfast announces an historical c photo exhibit focused on pin- up and glamour photographer Bunny Yeager’s work with African American and Caribbean models of color.
Through her entire professional career, Yeager showed an interest in exploring the glamour and beauty of models who were overlooked by other mainstream pin-up and glamour photographers. From her Virginia Key photoshoot with beauty queen Marie Adams, Miss Bronzeville 1958, to her pictorial work with La Raine Meers, Cotton Club dancer, and Roz Hill, muse of Flip Wilson, this exhibit captures a unique part of Ms. Yeager’s oeuvre.
The exhibit has been developed by Michael Sellinger of Cottelston Advisors; Ed Christin, who was Bunny’s archivist from 2010-2016; and Sarahjane Blum, pin-up and glamour art scholar, who co-owns Grapefruit Moon Gallery and the Bunny Yeager Estate.
