Historic D.A. Dorsey House Restoration

The  SEOPW CRA continues to invest in the preservation and rich culture of historic Overtown. The agency has invested $150,000 into the recent restoration of the D.A. Dorsey House Museum .The historic building, which is owned by the Black Archives Research Foundation of South Florida Inc. (Black Archives) is now open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The  exhibition currently on display  features the life, history, and legacy of Dana Albert Dorsey,Miami’s first Black Billionaire.A tribute to the 44th President Barack Obama, original Purvis Young Artwork, and excerpts from the Miami Times, Miami’s Black News periodicals are also on display.
