MIAMI’S HISTORIC OVERTOWN IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

MIAMI, FL – April 14, 2016 – The Southeast Overtown / Park West Community Redevelopment Agency would like to invite entrepreneurs and business owners interested in expanding, relocating or opening a business to Overtown’s Open for Business event. The event will be held on April 21, 2016 at 4:00pm at the Historic Lyric Theatre (819 NW 2nd Ave Miami, FL 33136).

The event will highlight the progress and development plans that are currently underway in Overtown. Among the most notable will be the opening of a new restaurant, supper club and lounge by award-winning chef Marcus Samuelsson where Clyde Killens’ Pool Hall once was. Details concerning this project are still under negotiation between Samuelsson’s development group and the CRA. Another great addition to the Overtown community is Gerald’s Graphics and Printing. Fin Care Investments, LLC was awarded $110,000 from the CRA to underwrite the build-out costs associated with Gerald’s Graphics and Printing, which will be located at the Carver Apartments and Shoppes (801 NW 3rd Ave Miami, FL 33136). They have been serving the redevelopment area since 1997.

Attendees will also get an opportunity to learn about future development plans, investment and redevelopment opportunities as well as the incentive programs available to new and existing business owners. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the historic trolley tour and discover the many opportunities this budding community has to offer.
