“The opening of Courtside Family Apartments is a major milestone for the CRA in achieving our overall goal of redeveloping the community and improving the quality of life of the residents who live here,” said Clarence E. The project is the third of four new affordable housing developments to open in Overtown with bond financing that the CRA received in 2014. Currently all units are fully leased and there’s a 400-person waiting list, illustrating the tremendous demand for affordable housing in the redevelopment area.

The $22.8 million project was developed by the Housing Trust Group and AM Affordable Housing ,a non-profit founded by NBA Hall of Famer and Miami Heat legend Alonzo Mourning.
